They are often called the "silent destroyers" because they may secretly hide and thrive in your house.
Termites cost Americans more than $5 billion yearly, and most insurance plans don't cover the damage.
Some species of termite queens lay hundreds of eggs each year.
All termites consume cellulose-based plant materials. Unfortunately, all houses can provide cellulose food for termite infestation regardless of construction type.
Termites are responsible for $2 billion to $3 billion in property damage yearly. Most of this damage is not covered by homeowner insurance policies. Termite infestations generally go undetected until obvious signs of deterioration occur.
Key Points to Protect
Termites can damage a number of structural components in a house, including the following:
Depending on the damage's location, extent, and the building materials required to fix it, repairs can be complicated and costly. So catching the infestation early is essential.
The pre-construction or termite proofing treatment method includes:
The post-construction or termite control treatment method includes:
There are two main methods to repair termite damage to wood:

Termites have soft bodies, pinchers, and straight antennae. Colors range from white to light brown. Worker termites often appear more lightweight, while swarming termites are darker.
Termites swarm after their original colony has reached a particular capacity level and is ready to extend. For most territories, this happens once a year. Hundreds or even thousands of swarmers, alates, are produced solely for reproduction and expansion.
Alates (swarmers) have tough exoskeletons and wings that are very dark in color. Additionally, swarming and flying termites can be identified by their prominent wings.
Termites usually measure between 1/4 and 1/2 of an inch long.
Inspect areas around the house for damaged wood, cast-off wings around the floor, and shelter tubes. Call an expert at Knockout for further investigation.
Home termite damage is a critical problem. It often destroys the structural integrity of a home. Most homeowners don’t notice they have termites until the damage has become expensive and challenging to fix. Residents rarely have the chance to check hidden areas like wall voids, so the pests tunnel and eat their way via studs and rafters uncontested, leading to collapsed supports.
There are about 50 different types of termite species found in North America, and each of these is classified into one of three termite groups – damp wood, dry wood, or subterranean. Each termite group has typical behaviors and environmental requirements regarding whether they live on the ground and where they construct their colonies.
Subterranean termite workers are the caste fellows that consume wood. They gain entrance into homes by building mud tubes that provide them a protective, moist passageway from one place to another. Workers usually gain access to houses by following their underground foraging tunnels, also known as exploratory tubes, to the foundation or underneath the home’s slab.
Termites can live simply a few days without water and only two weeks without food.
Termites have been around for almost 250 million years, making them an active contributor to our atmosphere. Termites live in every Country. In Pakistan alone, there are about 45 dynamic species of termites. While you cannot permanently remove termites from the surroundings, you can help prevent them from taking root in your house and manage any active colonies nearby.
